First Day of Practice Lesson at an Ancient Monument

Today marked one of the most remarkable days of our practical lessons, as we had the chance to visit Chor-Bakr, 🕌 one of the oldest and most sacred monuments in Bukhara. It was our very first experience exploring such a historical site together with our respected teacher, Muxiba Kamalovna. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and curiosity, and from the moment we arrived, it felt as if history itself was whispering through the air. 🍃

The complex looked magnificent — it included a madrasah, mosque, and khanqah, all beautifully built in the traditional architectural style. The tall, elegant structures reflected the deep wisdom and devotion of our ancestors. The yard was surrounded by tall green trees 🌳 that gave a sense of calmness and freshness. It was truly amazing to see how nature and history blended together in such perfect harmony.

Before our visit, we had already gathered some interesting information about the monument. 🧐 When we assembled around our teacher, each of us eagerly shared what we had learned. 🤓 Listening to everyone’s findings was both educational and enjoyable, and the proud smile on our teacher’s face made the moment even more special. 📚

One of the most enchanting sights was the presence of colorful birds 🕊️🦚 flying freely around the complex. Some even landed near us, as if welcoming us into their peaceful home. Their cheerful songs made the place feel even more alive and magical. We also came across a deep well filled with clear, fresh water 💦. According to local legends, those who drink from it may see their dreams come true — a thought both mystical and inspiring.

Nearby, there was also an old pool 🌊 with tiny fish swimming quietly inside. Its calm surface reflected the ancient buildings around it, showing how well the monument has been preserved through centuries. Not far from there, we saw several ancient graves, believed to be the resting places of holy and respected people. This gave the whole area a deeply spiritual feeling.

According to historical records, Shor-Bakr was first built after the death of Abu Bakr in 970. Later, it became known as Chor-Bakr, meaning “Four Bakrs,” because four descendants of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) were buried there.

Overall, this day was truly unforgettable — a journey not only into the past but also into the soul of our history and culture. Visiting Chor-Bakr filled my heart with pride, peace, and inspiration. I realized that history isn’t just written in books; it breathes within places like this, waiting for us to feel and remember it. ✨
